Kyle Cyree
President & Founder
Carrboro, NC
Kyle comes from a long line of self-starter entrepreneurs. Family legend has it that his great grandfather invented the partition in police cars in the 1940s. One grandfather is a machinist and inventor, best known for his work in carpet and textile manufacturing, and the other is a self-taught mandolin guru. His uncle owns a manufacturing supply company and his mother runs a Montessori school out of his parents' home.
For much of his youth, Kyle focused on writing quirky love stories. In his free time he co-founded an artist's collective called The Lam with collaborator Jess Stambaugh and worked on creating installation art and curating gallery shows. After graduating with a Master of Fine Arts degree in 2009, he searched for work and was hired by Boston-based startup Foodler. From 2011 through 2014, Kyle was promoted from Customer Support Representative to heading Foodler's day-to day operations, support, and financial departments. He managed over 10,000 client relationships and over 10,000,000 unique users. He has also been a leader in Foodler's strategy, human resources, accounting and billing departments, operations, technical support and marketing departments. As other startup veterans know, startups require you to wear the hat that's available, even if it doesn't fit your job title (or, sometimes, your head!).
In 2013, Kyle was admitted to the MBA program at Kenan-Flagler School of Business where he focused on Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship and finished the degree in 2015. Since 2013, Kyle has consulted with many investment banks, a venture capital firm, companies in the consumer products industries, a law firm, EdTech firms, and a few other smaller businesses. He's also launched three of his own businesses, one that sells beard oil, balm, and wax that Kyle manufactures, another called CareerBingo that will one day disrupt the job search and HR app industries, and the final called Wanderfull that is focused on recording solutions for yogis and other travelers.
In his free time Kyle attends Chamber of Commerce events, draws It's a Friendly World, brushes up on his other arts/crafts skills and mentors others in his community. He's currently prototyping a device to deter deer from eating his garden. Wish him luck!
Kyle's favorite cake is carrot cake with cream cheese icing.
